ARTIST STATEMENT​​​

Gestures produced from bodily expression by integrating dancing, music and painting has been the principal subject in my work. Through the painting practice, dancers were chosen, including myself as part of a collaborative communal activity. The translation of this confluence is disclosed and completed by performer, artist and viewer. My paintings attempt to freeze dancing gestures in time by collecting the traces of them. Through this experience, I have discovered how subjective human life is, that dancing gestures develop a palimpsest; layers of senses, emotions, sounds, melodies, rhythms, and memories that are continuously changing in the space.​​​
